TeachingEnglish Teachers Welcome to this week's edition of the TeachingEnglish newsletter! This week we are happy to announce that episode 2, 'Speaking youth - to power', of our new ten-part podcast 'The Climate Connection' is available to listen to. For the classroom, we have a new lesson plan for primary learners on keeping active and healthy, and a new lesson for adults and teenagers focused on gender stereotypes and equality. We also invite you to nominate your choice for the ELTons Outstanding Achievement Award, and bring news of an online event for those of you interested in using picturebooks for intercultural citizenship education in early English language learning. We hope you find these resources useful. The TeachingEnglish team | |

Jouja Maamri is the UK's delegate to the G7 Youth Summit. She talks about the vital role language plays in addressing the climate crisis. Sophia Kianni shares with us her experience of setting up Climate Cardinals, a volunteer-led not-for-profit which translates climate information into 100+ languages. |

| Are you active or not? This lesson for primary pupils at CEFR level A2 and above helps learners think about their health and how active they are. Learners take part in a short exercise routine and classify activities according to their intensity. They think about the importance of doing physical activity and plan their own short routine, which they lead for their group. They also do a simple quiz and make a daily exercise chart for themselves, which they can try to follow outside of class. |

Students will reflect on gender stereotypes, discuss human rights, review vocabulary related to rights and look at a timeline of women's rights in the UK.
