November 2017

Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter.

NEW GRAMMAR CHANTS!
Have you seen our new Grammar chants? This great new section has ten chants on different grammar topics, to help children become aware of and use grammar. Each fun chant has games and printable worksheets which will help kids understand the chant and practise the grammar topic.

We hope you like them! Why not tell us what you think on our Contact us page or send us an email at:
learnenglish.kids@britishcouncil.org

UNIVERSAL CHILDREN'S DAY
Did you know that 20 November is Universal Children's Day? It's an important day for child rights, and kids can learn about this with our new Video zone video, What are child rights? There are games and a printable worksheet to help them understand the video.

UK Anti-Bullying Week is also in November. Our Say no to bullying Reading practice helps kids understand what bullying is and what they can do about it. Children who are registered on the site can write a comment to tell us what they think!

YOUR TURN SECTION
Did you know we have more than 60 different pages in our Your turn section? This is a great place for children to find topics that interest them and practise writing in English. They can tell us about their family, food they like, sports they play, their school, pets, lots of different special days ... and much more!

This month, to celebrate Bonfire Night on 5 November and World Television Day on 21 November, why not get your kids to write on our Bonfire Night or Television Your turns?

WORD GAMES SECTION
Have your children played any of our word games? These games are a great way for kids to learn and practise new vocabulary, and all the words have audio so they can listen to the words as they learn.

There are over 100 games on lots of different topics and children can also write a comment about the topic afterwards!
