TeachingEnglish - the global home for teachers
23 September 2015

Welcome to the latest newsletter from TeachingEnglish!
This week we announce the first in a series of webinars showcasing ideas from the 2015 ELTons winning innovations - using the ELTons award winning EAP dictionary to develop writing skills.

We also have four new blog topics for September including Teacher and career development - World Teachers' Day, which is celebrated on October 5th and which we invite you to celebrate with us by sharing your experiences as a teacher.

For the classroom, we have some ideas on setting kids homework, a step-by-step guide on creating a class magazine with teens, and an article on the learning possibilities of smartphones.

And finally, the featured professional practice from our new CPD framework this week is 'Knowing the subject'.

We hope you find these resources useful.

Starting a project from scratch can seem a little daunting to begin with so here's a simple step-by-step guide on how to make a class magazine.

Teaching adults

'Do you ban the use of phones in the class or do you embrace the technology? How can you use the smart phone as a teaching and learning tool? This article gives practical tips on the learning possibilities of smartphones in the EFL classroom.

Development

This week we feature the professional practice from our new CPD framework 'Knowing the subject'. Find resources to help you with this professional practice.
