LearnEnglish Kids Newsletter July 2015 Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter. EID AL-FITR In July, many people around the world will celebrate Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim festival at the end of Ramadan. Children can listen to a girl from Egypt tell us about this celebration in our Eid al-Fitr story.   Kids can also write and tell us about their favourite day in our Favourite day Your turn or try our Festivals in the UK quiz to learn about many other special days celebrated in Britain.   HOLIDAY TIME! In the UK, it's time for the long summer holidays for children.   Kids can read The lucky envelope story to see which holiday Dalia's family chooses, or try our Gran's adventures video, to practise talking about their experiences.   Younger children will enjoy our Beach Paint it game, and older kids can write about their summer holidays, or tell us when they next have a holiday, on our Summer holidays Your turn. TOP TIPS FOR PARENTS! Have you seen our new Top tips section for parents? Here you'll find lots of short, easy-to-read tips on helping your child learn English.    We also have short Video tips where you can watch families practising English in different ways.    We'll be adding more tips to both these sections soon! If you are a teacher, these are great resources to recommend to your learners' parents. PRACTISING ENGLISH A great way for your child to practise their English is by writing comments on our site. Kids can comment on any of our fun games, songs, stories and activities, in a safe environment as we moderate all comments before they are published.    It's free to register, and children can design their own special character that appears next to their comments.   Don't forget our Parents' forum too, where you can ask questions or give your own suggestions on topics related to children learning English.
