Latest seminar - Creating a climate for innovation in language learning

More than ever the world needs young people who are internationally-minded and able to participate positively in an interconnected and interdependent world. This means promoting a step change in our approach to multilingualism and cultural awareness. The event also launched our new 'Think differently' project. The British Council will be inviting teachers to join an  international network of incubator schools engaging in a series of micro-projects to explore new approaches to language learning. It will be a great opportunity to 'Try something new!'  Watch this workshop which explores what we might do to promote new ideas in language learning.

If you missed this webinar, you can now watch a recording. Maria focuses on helping teachers, rather than learners, with developing their own creative thinking skills so that they, in turn can do a great job with their learners. This talk aims to give ideas to teacher trainers practising or prospective, as well as to teachers who can use many of the ideas and activities in their own teacher self-help groups.

Milestones in ELT

For our 80th anniversary celebrations, we have added to a selection of historical publications that have set the agenda for ELT professionals. The publications reveal how our profession has developed. Many of the messages and ideas are as relevant today as they were when first published. We would like thank 'CILT, The National Centre for Languages' and University of Warwick ELT Archive for their generous assistance in putting together this collection.
