The Fair List, UK

Set up in 2013, The Fair List, is an annual award. It celebrates excellence in gender balance of plenary speakers, presenters or speaker panels at UK ELT events. The group supporting the award believes that good gender balance at UK ELT events will ensure wide coverage of relevant topics and a more balanced perspective on the issues affecting both women and men in their professional lives. It will also help to reflect the composition of the profession.

In February the British Council's EnglishAgenda website is taking a closer look at teaching pronunciation in the lead up to the NATECLA London/IATEFL PronSIG event on Saturday 21 February. Our associate bloggers on TeachingEnglish will be writing about questions related to pronunciation and will be giving some practical ideas on how to tackle pronunciation more effectively in class. Be inspired by a seminar recording with Robin Walker, a podcast on English as a Lingua Franca, Monday 16 February and live-streamed conference, Saturday 21 February.
