LearnEnglish Kids Newsletter
April 2014

Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter.

Easter is on April 20 this year, and kids will enjoy our story The great egg hunt, where space spies Sam and Pam search for a golden egg.

Learners can practise Easter words with our Easter wordsearch or Easter find the pairs game. They can also write about celebrating Easter on our Easter your turn, which comes with two printable worksheets. For younger children there is a colouring worksheet, and a vocabulary worksheet for older children. Happy Easter!

STAY HEALTHY!
Celebrate World Health Day on April 7, to mark the founding of the World Health Organisation in 1948, and World Malaria Day on April 25.

Children can watch our I'm too ill story to practise talking about different illnesses, and The story of quinine, to learn about a medicine that helps fight malaria. Both stories come with printable worksheets, as well as a fill the gap game and an order the sentences game. Kids can also practise their spelling of health words with our health words wordsearch game.

It's International Children's Book Day on April 2nd so why not read a book in English with your child?

You'll find articles on reading with your child on our parents' page. You can join in with discussions about reading and books, or ask for advice and ideas on our forum.

Children can make their own story with our Story maker or post a comment on the site about what they like to read.

Have you seen our Your turn section recently? We are updating this section and adding new worksheets to help your child practise writing in English about their favourite subjects. There are answer sheets to download too!

Our sister website, TeachingEnglish, has new and updated articles on teaching kids with ideas on how to use the activities on LearnEnglish Kids. A good starting point in this section is Kids and the LearnEnglish Kids website. Please leave a comment and tell us what you think!
