LearnEnglish Kids Newsletter October 2013 Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter. AUTUMN AND HALLOWEEN! Children will love making autumn decorations and singing along with our song about falling leaves this autumn. For Halloween we have a game, a story, a song and much more! Just click on Halloween in the topic box on our home page to see lots of fun activities. You can find ideas on how to use our Halloween activities in this article. Happy Halloween! BOOKS AND POETRY! Do your children love poems? It's UK National Poetry Day on October 3rd, so why not encourage your learners to write a poem about one of their favourite festivals in our Your turn section. Join in with Children's Book Week (October 7th - 9th) and help make reading fun for your kids. Choose a story from LearnEnglish Kids and either read or listen. Children can even create and then print their own stories with our story maker! PARENT AND TEACHERS! Did you know that National Parents' week is October 21-27? Why not take a look at the forums, downloadable booklets, apps, learning resources, and links to websites on our Parents page? World Teachers' Day is on October 5th. Teachers can find lots of activities and lesson ideas based around LearnEnglish Kids in the Teaching kids section on our sister website, TeachingEnglish. Happy teaching to all our parents and teachers! SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS IN OCTOBER This month is full of things to celebrate!   World Space Week starts October 4th, so your kids might like our space song or this story. We've got lots of games too - find all the activities here! October is International Walk to School month. We've got lots of activities on road safety to help children stay safe when walking.  Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is popular in Britain as well as South Asia.
