| This lesson plan has been developed to support the IATEFL Global Issues SIG and their October event focusing on Food issues Read more The lesson looks at two food-related topics: School dinners and Britain's Snack culture. In this lesson students do a jigsaw reading activity where they read and then compare two different texts about food issues. They do a fast and furious speaking activity to practise fluency. | | The 4th annual Reform Symposium Conference (RSCON), a free online three day event bringing together educators, students and innovators from around the world, will be held between October 11th and 13th in conjunction with Connected Educator Month. The entire conference will be held online using the Blackboard Collaborate platform. Participants can attend this conference free from anywhere that has Internet access. Read more |

| Learners have a lot of ideas about how they should learn a language and it is important to encourage them to discuss these and to communicate them to the teacher. Many of these ideas are not necessarily things you agree with, and discussion also gives you an opportunity to explain your beliefs about language learning and share your rationale. Read more |
