Hello again and welcome to another edition of the TeachingEnglish newsletter. This week we have a new activity that you can use in class with adults and teenage students. If you haven't heard of the famous British scientist Alan Turing then it might be of interest to you.

We have a new video seminar on the topic of producing materials for IELTS. It's the latest in our video seminar series and is presented by Sam McCarter in London. Also for teachers looking for professional development there is a new workshop from our in-service teacher development series.

Finally, if you'd like to help some less experienced teachers with your ideas, there are questions about how to help develop teaching skills and how to teach teenagers.

Best wishes,

Duncan

How to develop speaking skills

Hi everyone! I have already posted a question on how to teach speaking to children. The information provided by some of you helped me finish my research paper on that topic. Now I'm working with two colleagues on a new research paper on how to teach speaking to teenage learners. I'd like to hear your opinion on this subject.

Teaching teenagers - advice please!

I'm a newly qualified teacher having just completed the CELTA Cambridge course and I'm starting my first job as a teacher in 2 weeks time. The job is at a Summer Camp in Reading where we teach for 3 hours in the morning and then the rest of the day is made up with learning English through activities (typical summer camp).
