Welcome! This week's TeachingEnglish has its usual mix of articles, activities and reader contributions. There's a new article which encourages teachers to reflect on their own classroom practice and there's an activity that looks at how storytelling can be used to celebrate cultural diversity.

From our readers this week is a blogpost about using smartphones in your teaching and also a question about task-based learning that some of you might be able to answer for Abu Sumaya from KSA. There's also a new poll on the site for you to contribute to: how do you correct errors in student's written work.

Best wishes,

Duncan

Task based learning

My name is Abu Sumayah. I am presently teaching in KSA. I just wanted to see what the members thought about TBL as a support mechanism to main stream language acquisition. Do you think that TBL should be implemented as an occasional support mechanism or as a full support mechanism in the classroom?
