Hello from the TeachingEnglish team. This week's newsletter has plenty of contributions from you, the reader. We have the second in a series of blog postings from Georgina Hudson looking at how you can set positive limits in the classroom and there's the chance to help a new teacher who's having difficulty with advanced learners. As always there are contributions from the TeachingEnglish team, including a new BritLit kit for you to try, an article looking at grammar and lexis and an interview with Keith Kelly. The interview with Keith is part of a new collection of materials focusing on CLIL which you can find here. There's also Fitch O'Connell's final posting from the Hay Segovia festival. Finally, from next week, Adrian Underhill will be joining us as Guest Teacher - watch out for articles, activities and discussion on teaching pronunciation! Best wishes, Duncan TeachingEnglish Team | British Council | BBC |

Beverley Naidoo's compelling story is the first in a new series of BritLit resources kits, 'Open Book', which works with longer stories. Read more |

 | I'm back home after a very stimulating few days in Segovia. I suspect that what we have learned will be very useful in the Hay Festivals worldwide throughout 2011. The feedback we got from teachers and students has been very positive and it would be a shame if the experience was limited only to those teachers and students who managed to get to Segovia over a three days period in September. | This is the second in a series of three blogs I'm planning to write about setting positive limits in the classroom. Can you tell the difference between the words authoritative and authoritarian? If you can, which definition best describes your teaching? Read more |

 | Teaching advanced students

|
 | Hi, I'm starting my second year teaching English at a private academy in South Korea. I finished my CELTA about a month ago. I'm now teaching a lot of advanced students. They are all mostly Korean English teachers who want to improve their English. I'm looking for any good advice/info or support/tips and techniques for teaching advanced learners. Read more
