Welcome to another edition of the TeachingEnglish newsletter. We are delighted to welcome Carol Read to the site. Over the month of February you will be able to follow the discussions on Carol's blog as we launch a new series of story-telling materials for primary teachers.

Also new this month is a Teaching Kids piece which looks at how your young learners can get their writing published on our sister site LearnEnglish Kids and a new pairwork activity 'what's in the fridge?' which can be used to practice countable and uncountable nouns. There's also an article about asking questions. This week's featured blog looks at the question: 'how can I be a native-like English speaker?'

Publish writing on LearnEnglish Kids

Young learners can now publish their writing on the New LearnEnglish Kids site. Learners send in their writing to LearnEnglish kids then each contribution is read by a moderator. The writing is then posted within 24 hours.

Pairwork: What's in the fridge?

This is another simple pairwork activity that can be used with low level groups to provide practice in countable and uncountable nouns, in the question structure - How much ... is there? /How many ... are there? and the corresponding answers. The lesson is designed for adults but could also be used with older teenagers.
