Our Teacher Educator Online Community is one year old!
The British Council's teacher educator community is an online platform where teacher educators can meet together to share ideas and learn from one another. Thursday 27 June marked the first anniversary of the community for teacher educators. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting the community and making it a success. We couldn’t have got here without our members' contributions. Find out what we have achieved in our first year.
Engaging with listening - active listening
Engaging with listening - active listening is a three-hour, self-study training module, which is divided into three one-hour units. The aim of this module is to consider the importance of active listening for both teachers and learners. The module looks at what active listening is, what interferes with it and highlights features that encourage active listening skills. Buy this module in July 2019 at half-price.
Classrooms Without Borders
Can we really spin the globe and jump in into the unknown in our classroom? Or has the administrative part of our job won and silenced our creativity? Interculturalism may be a common research topic, but in many instances, it is really hard to introduce different cultures into the regular curriculum. Read this week's featured blog post by Milica Vukadin to find out how she introduces different cultures into her lessons with children and adults.

With that in mind, our topics for July and August take a look at adjusting assessment, activities to end a school year, how to include a focus on 21st century skills and helping learners develop strategies for listening. Find the latest blog topics for July and August 2019 and take a look at some interesting posts from the last two months.
My holiday English book
In this lesson learners will plan and create their own activity book for the summer holidays. First they will do two reading activities to prepare them. They will then look at some ideas for pages they can include in their own books. They will work in small groups, sharing their ideas and planning their books, deciding how many pages to have and which activities to include. Finally they will create their books. Read more.
