Welcome to the TeachingEnglish newsletter!
This week we have a brand NEW lesson plan for March especially designed for International Women's Day on 8 March.

We also have news of the latest EnglishAgenda webinar, 'Thinking skills are life skills' - Thursday 3 March.

For those of you who teach senior adults, we have a NEW article on teaching this age group, and for kids we have the Mistakes and ladders game.

If you are involved in conference planning, take a look at our article 'What makes a successful conference?'

And finally, we announce our NEW blog topics around the theme of
taking responsibility for your professional development.

We hope you find these resources useful.

Teaching kids

Test your young learners' spelling and have a bit of board game fun with our Mistakes and ladders game. There are 200 word and picture cards to choose from which cover a range of themes including people, places, work and study, house and home, food and drink.

Teaching teens

In support of International Women's Day on 8 March, our latest lesson plan for older teenagers and adults focuses on five unsung female heroes. This lesson, will help to raise awareness of some not very famous, but nonetheless important, women. The lesson is suitable for teenage and adult students at CEF level B1+.

Teaching adults

How to maximise the language learning of senior learners is a NEW article on teaching older learners. There are many benefits of studying for older learners, such as increased self-confidence, increased feelings of health and well-being, reduced feelings of isolation, and increased engagement in the community

Development

If you are planning or involved with organising a conference, check out this article by Ana DAlmeida 'What makes a successful conference?' Ana offers a list of things, which in her experience of attending and organising conferences are, more often than not, essential in order to make a conference successful.

Events

EnglishAgenda is pleased to bring you another webinar in the series showcasing ideas from the 2015 ELTons winning innovations. This week sees the winner of the ELTon award for Innovation in Teacher Resources 'Thinking skills are life skills'. This workshop will give ideas for helping students feel more confident in their English skills and get them thinking more about the information they are presented with. Join Carol Higho on Thursday 03 March at 16.00 UK time.

Magazine

We are changing the format of the blog topics slightly. Instead of monthly topics, there will be bi-monthly topics so you get two months instead of one to submit your blog posts. Our latest blog topics look at the theme of taking responsibility for your professional development. Happy blogging!
