Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter.

VOCABULARY PRACTISE

On LearnEnglish Kids we have lots of games and activities to learn and practise vocabulary.

Younger children will enjoy our Paint it, Label the picture and Find the pairs games. Older children can play our Group the words and Paint the words games to practise categorising vocabulary. For spelling, try our Balloon burst, Monkey squash and Wordsearch games. Our Tricky words section will help with difficult English spellings! Kids can also learn new words from our Word of the week videos showing children in the UK explaining the words. And just for fun, try our Wordshake game. How many words can you make in three minutes?

Finally, look out for our new LearnEnglish Kids Playtime app for iOS, which will have lots of vocabulary games! The app is coming soon, so watch our parents app page where it will be launched!

BONFIRE NIGHT!
November 5th is Bonfire Night in Great Britain. It is a traditional British event which remembers a plot to blow up the English parliament in 1605. People celebrate with large bonfires and fireworks, and it is a lot of fun for kids!

Children can play our Bonfire Night game to help them learn about this celebration, and try a fireworks safety gameThey can also go to our Bonfire Night Your turn, with a free printable worksheet, and tell us about special characters from history in their country.

TONGUE TWISTERS
November 9th is International Tongue Twister Day. Listening to and saying tongue twisters can be a fun way for kids to improve their pronunciation.

On LearnEnglish Kids, we have many tongue twisters for children to listen to, and then they can practise saying the tongue twisters themselves. Why not practise a few together, and then ask them which one is their favourite?

Children who are members can also leave comments on the tongue twisters, telling us how easy or difficult they were! All comments are moderated before being published to help keep LearnEnglish Kids a safe site for children.
