LearnEnglish Kids Newsletter
March 2014

Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter.

March 3-9 is Climate week in Britain. Why not try some of our fun activities about helping the environment with your child?

The ballad of Lisa the lemur is a lovely song about some of the animals that live in the rainforest. Children can also read what happens on a school trip in our Planet Earth story. Both activities have downloadable worksheets. Look at all our fun resources about the environment and choose some more to do with your kids!

SPRING!
Would your children like to make a spring hat? Watch the video to find out how, then download the worksheet. Kids will also love to play our spring spelling game, and younger learners can practise spring words with our label the picture game.

Shrove Tuesday (March 4) is a day when we eat pancakes in Britain. Children will have fun learning about this festival and other special days with our Festivals in the UK quiz game.

Sport Relief (March 21-23) is when people in the UK do sports to raise money for charity.

Children can sing along with I can run, and they can listen to and read a story about Buzz and Bob doing sports on holiday. In Sports mixer, learners choose the right clothes and equipment for Lottie and her different sports. Our paint the words game is a fun way to practise sports words. Children can also write to our sports your turn to tell us about the sports that they do. We publish all comments that follow our house rules.

Have you seen our parents' page recently? We're adding top tips to this page with lots of ideas on how you can help your child learn English.

Our first top tip is about reading English books with your child, and includes a link to further reading in our articles for parents. Please take a look and then write to the forum to tell us what you think. We're looking forward to reading your comments!
