| Welcome to this week's TeachingEnglish newsletter. In this issue we are sad to say goodbye to Adrian Underhill as our Guest Teacher but are very pleased to welcome Jamie Keddie who will be taking over. Jamie has already written his first article for the TeachingEnglish site looking at the use of Youtube in the English language classroom.
Also this week we have a lesson plan looking at the use of Facebook and social networking and an activity which looks at the use of doodles for psychoanalysis. As always there's some content from our readers in the form of Penny Trigg's 'Back into teaching' blog. There's also a farewell and 'thank you' from Adrian Underhill.
Best wishes, Duncan TeachingEnglish Team | British Council | BBC |

 | I am originally from the East Coast of Scotland, a beautiful part of the world where it doesn't rain as much as people think. I completed a science degree at Aberdeen University and then decided that I wanted to be a musician. After four long indulgent years, which were spent studying music at Leeds, I started working on a ship. Read more |

 | Years ago, I did the old RSA Certificate, and I did some TEFL for a while before getting side-tracked with other things. Now I'm half-way through the CELTA, in a big effort to up-date myself and to try teaching again. Of course, the CELTA is a very different experience from the RSA Certificate - for all sorts of reasons. Read more |
