TeachingEnglish Teachers Welcome to this week's edition of the TeachingEnglish newsletter! This week we are happy to announce two upcoming webinars: the first is on the theme of online storytelling and the other is about promoting creativity in digital learning. We also have news of free, new, online training courses focusing on gender in language education. For the classroom, we have a listening activity for older learners about winter and a lesson plan for primary learners on the topic of spring. We would also like to invite you to take part in a short survey on how you use social media groups for professional development. You can find out more about this here. And finally, applications for the ELTons innovation awards 2021 are now open. We hope you find these resources useful. The TeachingEnglish team | |

Rants and raves: winter This short listening practice activity for teens and adults can be used with learners of any level. Students will listen to a woman living in the UK talking about all the reasons why she doesn't like winter. The recording can be used as a starting point for a range of speaking or writing activities in the online or face-to-face classroom. |

| Signs of spring This activity is for young learners aged 6 to 10 living in northern hemisphere countries where it is almost spring, and is especially useful to see how nature comes to life in this season. In this lesson children identify the objects on their worksheet together and then go outside or look at pictures inside the classroom to see what they can find. |
