March 2020

March is here and there are lots of special days to celebrate! We've chosen some resources for you and your learners to enjoy on the environment, important British women, feelings and poetry.
Happy learning!

The LearnEnglish Kids team

World Wildlife Day, the International Day of Forests, World Water Day and Earth Hour are all happening this month! Check out the activities about helping the planet in our Environment topic

Learn vocabulary with a word game and flashcards, listen to songs, watch stories and YouTube videos, play a recycling game and print a worksheet or pictures to colour.

International Women's Day is on 8 March every year. Celebrate with us by finding out about some important women from British history.

Choose from the writer Beatrix Potter, famous queens Boudica and Elizabeth I, the nurse Florence Nightingale and Emmeline Pankhurst, who fought for votes for women. Happy Women's Day!

The International Day of Happiness is on 20 March. Sometimes it's not easy for children to talk about how they feel. Watch some kids talk about feelings in a new video in our Video zone, Angry, sad and mad.

Kids can learn vocabulary for feelings and emotions with our word games and flashcards and write about Laughter. You'll find all of this and more in our Feelings topic.

Do you like poems? It's World Poetry Day on 21 March! Head over to our Poems section where you'll find poems about all sorts of different themes.

There are 20 poems to choose from, about school, families, friends, dreams and much more. And kids can check their understanding with the activities. Happy listening!
