British Council
LearnEnglish Kids newsletter
January 2020

Welcome to 2020! We've got some fantastic activities for you and your learners to get the new year off to a great start. Enjoy!

The LearnEnglish Kids team

It's Time for another year, so why not help your learners practise the months of the year with this catchy song?

Kids can learn vocabulary, write and draw on our New Year's
Eve worksheet and New Year's resolutions worksheet. And members can get writing on the site and tell everyone about their New Year's Eve and New Year's resolutions.

Get ready for Lunar New Year, which starts on 25 January, with all of the activities in our Lunar New Year topic!

2020 is the year of the rat. What's your Chinese Zodiac animal? Find out with our worksheet! If you like craftsyou can make a paper dragon or a lantern. You can also listen to songs and stories, and watch a video to find out how Chinese New Year is celebrated in the UK. Happy Lunar New Year!

Perhaps your New Year's resolution is to help your children practise their English? If so, head over to our Parents section!

Read expert advice in our articles, watch videos of families doing activities together, find top tips for helping your child and get information about LearnEnglish Kids apps. And don't forget the LearnEnglish Parents Facebook page, where you will find all sorts of useful ideas and information. Happy learning!
