Self-study training: Understanding lesson management 1
Our three-hour self-study module 'Understanding lesson management 1' is available half-price in February 2019. The aim of this module is to look at techniques for managing lessons and learners. The module looks at techniques for getting learners' attention, signalling the transition between activities and stages and responding to unexpected classroom events.
My life as non-native English speaker teacher
'When I decided to become a teacher of English, I never thought that the fact that I was not a native English speaker would have any sort of relevance in my profession.' Read the latest blog post by Vicky Saumell about the prejudices that can affect non-native English speaker teachers.
Climate change
This integrated skills lesson for teen and adult learners looks at the island republic of Kiribati and the issues facing the islands as a result of climate change. Students will discuss the topic of climate change, use expressions to make predictions and write a summary, watch a short video and answer questions, then consider and discuss how climate change has affected where they live and how it may affect where they live in the future.
Understanding early literacy for primary
Our three-hour training module 'Understanding early literacy for primary' is available half-price in February. The aim of this self-study training module is to provide you with practical activities to develop early literacy, using a multisensory approach. The module looks at how short stories are useful in raising phonemic awareness and showing the relationship between text, spoken words and illustrations. You’ll also look at literacy strategies which help link letters to sounds.
Valentine's Day
Did you know that in the UK we spend about £503m on cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts for Valentine's Day? This lesson for secondary and adult learners at B1/B2 level is designed to be used near the date of Valentine's Day (14 February) to talk about the topic of love and romance.

And we also have a Valentine's lesson plan for primary learners at A1/A2 level here
