LearnEnglish Kids Newsletter
June 2014

Welcome to the latest LearnEnglish Kids newsletter.

The World Cup begins on June 12th, and we have lots of football activities for children to enjoy.

Kids can listen to a story and song about football, then they can try some of our football activities to have fun and practise their English at the same time. They will really love our Beat the keeper game to test their football vocabulary!

Finally, if your children are members of the site, they can write about football and the World Cup on our special Football your turn

RAMADAN
Ramadan is an important time of year in the Islamic calendar and starts on June 28th.

Children can read a story and sing a song about Ramadan, to find out about some of the things people do at this time. All of our songs and stories come with a free printable worksheet to complete. Kids can also play a game to learn words connected with Ramadan.

World Oceans Day is on June 8th. Students will enjoy our story about a fish called Angel and the Great Barrier Reef. They can also sing a song about underwater animals and complete the printable worksheets.

Children will love our sea animal games and activities. Younger kids will particularly like this Paint it game and older kids can try this Find the definitions game

International Children's Day is on June 1st and Father's Day is on June 15th. For Father's Day, watch our My dad story. Children who are members of our site can write a comment about their dad or another special member of their family on our Family your turn

To practise family words with your children, play this  Family paint the words game or this spelling game. For some more ideas about helping your child with their English, don't forget to check out our weekly Parent top tips on our Parents' page
