| In the UK and many other countries, it's time for children to go back to school after the long summer break.
Children can watch our Superhero High story and imagine going to this amazing school! Parents and teachers can introduce younger children to useful classroom language in English with our Quiet please song.
We have flashcards with school equipment and lots of games for children to practise school vocabulary. Finally, kids can write and tell us how they feel about going back to school on our school and homework your turns. |

| We now have 10 great new and updated lesson plans based on LearnEnglish Kids songs and stories.
These lesson plans help students explore the song or story, with comprehension and extension activities, language reinforcement, as well as chances to perform the song or recreate the story!

September 8 is International Literacy Day, and September 26 is the European Day of Languages. September 21 is World Peace Day. Our Speak and Spell section is based on the UK literacy programme Letters and Sounds. It helps children discover English sounds, pronunciation and spelling through fun songs, stories and games, to help them get an early start with English literacy. There's even a free app to download. |

| It's the start of a new school year for us here at LearnEnglish Kids, and this year we are looking forward to new and exciting things on the site! We have added more topics to the Your Turn section, where children can practise writing about lots of different things. We are also interested in knowing what parents and teachers think! You can vote in the poll on our parents site and help us decide on how to shape the site in the future. You can also reply to this newsletter and tell us your comments directly! And you can always contact us via the site. Looking forward to hearing from you! |
