As Christmas gets closer we have a look at a variety of activities that you can use when teaching groups of young learners. These include stories, songs and games.

CLIL for secondary schools

Fairy tales; not just for kids

Are recent innovations having any effect on your teaching?

As technology continues to advance, its presence is being felt more and more in the classroom via the use of Interactive White Boards (IWBs), tablet computers and smart phones. So we were wondering how much of an impact technology is having on the readers of TeachingEnglish, take part in our poll to let us know.

B2 level Teen private student with poor conversational skills

I have just started teaching in Poland. I have a B2 level Teen private student, once per week, who needs to work on his conversational skills and suffers from a lack of vocabulary. We use a book every second week but he finds this fairly easy as he is quiet good at grammar etc. Any tips, materials links or ideas are most welcome. Thanks in advance or your help.
