It's August! Many children are on school holidays and it's the perfect time for them to have fun practising their English. Here are some ideas for activities. Happy learning!

LISTEN AND WATCH
There are over 150 songs, stories and videos in our Listen and watch section! Whatever your child's age or interests, there's something for everyone.

It's a really enjoyable way for kids to develop their English listening skills!


 
GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY
Do your children sometimes find grammar difficult? Our videos and chants are a fun way to understand how we use grammar. 

Want to expand your vocabulary? We have more than 100 picture-word matching games. Each has audio to help with pronunciation. 


PRINT AND MAKE
Kids love getting creative! Why not let your child choose a craft or a colouring to print out? 

There are puzzles, quizzes and other activities in our Worksheets section. With so many topics to choose from, your kids will be busy until they go back to school!

Welcome to this week's TeachingEnglish newsletter. We've selected a range of practical resources to help you in the classroom and ideas to help you with your professional development. We hope you find them useful.

Free online course - Teaching for Success: the Classroom and the World
Explore 21st-century skills, ICT and multilingual approaches with this English language teaching professional development course. This course is part of the Teaching for Success: Practices for English Language Teaching programme, which will enable you to develop professionally as an English language teacher. In this course you will look at four professional practices: Integrating ICT, Promoting 21st-century skills, Using multilingual approaches and Understanding educational policies and practice. 
Strategies for written feedback
Develop effective feedback strategies for students' writing with our self-access training or downloadable resources for the training room. This module is 'Strategies for written feedback' and supports the professional practice 'Assessing learning'. The aim of this module is to support teachers in exploring an element of assessment in learning by providing them with practical ways of assessing writing with a focus on summative assessment. Polar bear story
This polar bear story is based on a well-known children's joke and provides an ideal context to practise the question, 'Have I got?' The story lends itself well to being acted out and can also act as a springboard to project work on the polar bear.
